Meta Announces AI Chatbots with Celebrity Avatars Including Snoop Dogg, Kendall Jenner, Naomi Osaka and many more.

Mark Zuckerberg revealed the introduction of AI chatbots with celebrity personas such as Snoop Dogg, Kendall Jenner, and Naomi Osaka during Meta's annual Connect conference. These chatbots will possess distinct interests and provide personalized guidance to users, aiming to enhance interactivity and user enjoyment.

Meta is set to introduce over 28 artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots in a beta release, some of which will be portrayed by celebrities. The lineup includes Snoop Dogg, who will take on the role of the "Dungeon Master," guiding users through adventure games. Dwyane Wade, the former basketball player, will embody the AI character "Victor," aimed at assisting users with their workout routines. Naomi Osaka will become "Tamika," an AI with a passion for anime, while Kendall Jenner will become "Billie," a trusted "big sis" and a loyal companion.

In addition to these celebrity chatbots, there will be others programmed to provide information and support on various topics, such as crafting speeches and culinary pursuits. For instance, "Max," the sous chef bot, will aid users in generating delectable recipes.

Earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal reported that Meta's initial tests with the chatbot encountered issues. According to the WSJ, one document revealed that an employee found the chatbot to be impolite and had difficulty grasping its personality.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, emphasized that this endeavor goes beyond merely answering questions; it's also about providing entertainment. He acknowledged that there may be some limitations because the chatbots currently lack access to real-time information, but he indicated that this capability would be introduced in the coming months.

Meta's move aims to engage younger audiences and facilitate their interaction with these artificial intelligences.

During the announcement, Zuckerberg emphasized that a majority of individuals haven't had the opportunity to engage with AI, and Meta aims to change this by integrating AI into apps that are used by billions of people.

Meta also introduced "Meta AI," developed in collaboration with Microsoft and Bing Search. This is a conversational assistant designed to interact with users in a human-like manner.

Meta has plans for additional products in the pipeline, including an AI studio intended for individuals and developers to create their own AI applications, with a particular focus on businesses and content creators. They are also working on "Emu" (Expressive Media Universe), an image generator allowing users to quickly create images within Meta apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook.
